The unique bond structure is a combination of grit impregnated with a substance called stearic acid. , This specially formulated mix ensures lubrication is present between the grit and work surface at raised temperatures. Due to the low melting point of Aluminium, problems can arise once a grinding surface reaches melting point.

The useful substance present within the bond structure, acts a lubricant to reduce friction between grit and work piece. Lower friction = less heat build-up. By reducing the heat element, there is less possibility of melted aluminium sticking to the grinding wheel surface.
